Patient Representative

Job Description
Primary responsibility is to perform complex and multiple functions in relation to the patient check in process, patient scheduling, and the collection of co-pays and documentation needed for billing.
Responsibilities
1. Understand all check in processes to direct patient care accordingly.
2. Schedule all appointment types with knowledge and efficiency.
3. Coordinates the completion of all required paperwork for each patient visit and follows procedures with EMR program.
4. Collect payments for all rendered services.
5. Verify and process daily account for deposits to be reviewed by supervisor.
6. Answer all phone calls using the appropriate script and gain all information needed in EMR program. Always inform patients that co-pays and insurance information is needed at time of service
7. Always use a soft transfer technique between all departments with appropriate phone etiquette and customer service.
8. Effectively manage dynamic and/or potentially stressful patient encounters.
9. Maintain general appearance of waiting room and lobby.
10. Always use excellent customer service skills in interactions with patients, visitors and other staff members.
11. Other duties assigned.
Qualifications
Ability to enter data in effectively and accurately.
Experience working in public relations, customer relations, communications and/or sales.
Confidence and poise in verbal communication, both in person and over the phone with physicians, employees, patients, and outside associates.
Able to work successfully in and contribute to a team-oriented, cordial, and professional environment.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
