Position Overview:
We are seeking a personable, detail-oriented, and organized Scheduling Specialist to join our team.
As a Scheduling Specialist, you will play a crucial role in coordinating and managing appointments, ensuring optimal patient flow and satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
The scheduling specialists' responsibilities include rescheduling and canceling appointments, scheduling referral appointments, and verifying patient's demographical information.
Efficiently schedule patient appointments using our scheduling software.
Communicate effectively with patients to confirm appointments and provide necessary information.
Coordinate with healthcare providers to manage their schedules and optimize patient care.
Handle inquiries from patients regarding appointments, services, and general information.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in the scheduling system.
Explaining financial requirements and obligations to patients and entering payments into the practice management system.
Scheduling referral appointments and follow-ups.
Verifying insurance details and informing patients of un-covered fees.
Filing documents and organizing supplies.
Collaborate with the administrative team to ensure smooth office operations.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in healthcare scheduling or a related field is preferred.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
Familiarity with medical terminology is a plus.
Proficient in using scheduling software and basic office applications.
Working knowledge of medical terminology and medical insurance plans.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
The ability to type and file accurately.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Good telephone etiquette.
